The N. C. Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) will meet June 10-11 by web conference. The meetings will begin at 9 a.m. both days. The public may listen to the meeting by computer or phone.
RALEIGH – The public hearing scheduled for the issuance of a hazardous waste draft renewal operating permit for the U.S. Coast Guard Base in Elizabeth City will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, in Courtroom C at the Pasquotank County Courthouse. Based on public health guidance to reduce the spread of COVID-19, room capacity is limited to 10 people, and appropriate social distancing measures will be observed.
On behalf of the Climate Change Interagency Council, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has submitted the North Carolina Climate Risk Assessment and Resilience Plan to Governor Roy Cooper.
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Division Air Quality, is accepting comments for changes to the division’s 2020-2021 Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Network Plan. The proposed changes are required to be submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) annually. Every year the monitoring network is re-evaluated and adjusted to ensure it is providing adequate coverage. In past years, these adjustments included starting new air quality monitors, shutting down monitors, or simply relocating established monitors.
The Division of Air Quality is requesting public comment on a draft permit for the Align RNG, LLC facility in Duplin County. This facility applied for an Air Quality Synthetic Minor Operation Permit for a biogas processing facility. The comment period closes on June 16, 2020.
