The Division of Marine Fisheries license office in Manteo will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 22, reopening on Monday Nov. 27. 

DAQ Issues Air Quality Permit to Dura-Supreme in Statesville

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) has issued a Title V air quality permit to Dura-Supreme, LLC – Statesville. The permit will allow the company to construct and operate a wood cabinet manufacturing facility in Iredell County.

The N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission today took a further step toward recovery of the striped mullet fishery, voting to send the Draft Striped Mullet Fishery Management Plan Amendment 2 for public and advisory committee review.

Extreme drought impacts 9 counties as drought continues across North Carolina

North Carolina’s Drought Management Advisory Council (DMAC) has identified nine counties in the Extreme Drought category (D3 category), for the first time since 2017, as part of expanding drought conditions across the state.

Public advised to avoid algal bloom near Bay Tree Lake in Bladen County

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Division of Water Resources (DWR) advises the public to avoid contact with green or blue water in a canal near Bay Tree Lake in Bladen County due to an algal bloom that has lingered in the area since Oct. 27.

Comments Accepted for Anson Gas Producers Draft Air Quality Permit

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) is accepting public comment on a draft Title V air quality permit for Anson Gas Producers, LLC.

Comments will be accepted until Dec. 31, 2023, at 5 p.m.
