The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Energy, Mineral, and Land Resources (DEMLR) has issued a mining permit for the Parker Mine operation, covering 83.6 acres in Stanly County.

The N.C. Sedimentation Control Commission will meet in the Green Square Building Training Room, 1st Floor, Room 1210 (217 W. Jones St., Raleigh 27603) on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m., and the public may join in person, by webinar or by phone.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality has received an application for a permit modification from Chemours for the Fayetteville Works facility, “Vinyl Ethers Expansion and Hydrolysis Line”.

A public hearing for two marine fisheries proposed rules that was scheduled for last night did not occur due to a technical problem. The hearing will be rescheduled and announced at a later date.

The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission (EMC) will meet Wednesday and Thursday, November 9 and 10, 2022 in the Ground Floor Hearing Room of the Archdale Building at 512 N. Salisbury St, Raleigh. Face coverings are optional for staff and attendees. There will be limited seating, and the public may also attend via remote access.

North Carolina will distribute more than $6.8 million to fund the installation or expansion of electric vehicle charging stations at 64 sites across the state.

The N.C. Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) Science Panel will meet Nov. 7 by web conference to conduct its annual review of new sea level rise studies and information. The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. The public may join the meeting by computer or phone.

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Coastal Management (DCM) Coastal Reserve will temporarily close the Currituck Banks Reserve parking lot, boardwalk and trail for repairs on Oct. 31. The closure is expected to last through the end of the year and is necessary to maintain the safety of boardwalk and trail users.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will hold a community information meeting on Tuesday, November 29, at the Community Center in Riegelwood Community Park. DEQ will share updates on private well sampling underway for PFAS contamination in Columbus, New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties.  Staff will also answer questions from the public about the private well sampling and alternate water supplies.  When: Tuesday, November 29 at 6 p.m.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) is accepting grant applications to fund projects that will reduce emissions from diesel engines.
