DEQ North Carolina Community Mapping System Survey

Proposed Tool Purpose:

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality's (DEQ) North Carolina Community Mapping System's purpose is to provide additional layers of community information to assist in local and state planning decisions with respect to development and implementation of permits in North Carolina. The system will improve the Department’s ability to provide fair treatment and meaningful involvement for all North Carolinians regardless of race, color, national origin, or income. The system will help DEQ increase local outreach and public participation by improving transparency and presenting information in an easy to understand visual manner.

Project Goal:

In a tangible way, create a mapping tool that is North Carolina specific.
