Coaters

Manufacturers and coaters of metal and plastic parts and products, and wood, paper and fabric goods will have new air emission standards in the future. Coating operations for a variety of manufactured products have new Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) rules being developed by EPA.

The coatings rules' development is a result of the Clean Air Act of 1990. Provided below are links to EPA's webpages for each of the air emission rules currently under development. These links usually provide a preliminary industry characterization, details of the information that was requested from potentially affected sources, lists of the companies that received the information collection requests (ICRs), minutes from various meetings, and any regulatory language that has been developed. Detailed information including a list of all of the relevant industry sectors can be found at: http://www.epa.gov/ttn/atw/coat/coat.html
