Kingfishes Annual Update

The scheduled 5-year review of the kingfishes FMP began in 2025. As part of the FMP review, a comprehensive evaluation of available data will occur to inform any potential management changes that may be proposed. In addition, the data evaluation will inform potential methods for monitoring the stock moving forward. Amendment 1 will replace or remove the current kingfish management triggers. This change is needed because of survey changes limiting the usefulness of current triggers to inform kingfish population trends.
