DWR will hold a public hearing on Feb. 27 at the Currituck County Center to hear public comment on North Carolina Department of Transportation and North Carolina Turnpike Authority’s 401 water quality certification application for the proposed Mid-Currituck Bridge project.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality is currently accepting comments on adoption of rule 15A NCAC 05C, regarding pre-drilling for oil and natural gas exploration activities, through Feb. 14, 2025. This permitted facility discharges treated domestic and industrial wastewater to NE Cape Fear River, a Class C; Sw waterbody in the Cape Fear River Basin. Some of the parameters in the permit are water quality limited. The locations of the Outfalls are denoted on the maps in the Permit.
