A stock assessment is not available due to lack of migration data, so an annual trend analysis with management triggers is used to monitor the stock. Kingfishes The trends analysis and management triggers were adopted as part of the 2007 FMP and updated in 2015. Kingfishes are currently managed under the 2020 Information Update to the FMP. The scheduled 5-year review of the Kingfishes FMP began in 2025. As part of the FMP review, a comprehensive evaluation of available data will occur to inform any potential management changes that may be proposed. In addition, the data evaluation will inform potential methods for monitoring the stock moving forward. The current FMP review will replace or remove the current kingfish management triggers. This change is needed because of survey changes limiting the usefulness of current triggers to inform kingfish population trends.
