Local Government Solid Waste and Materials Management Annual Reports

2026 Report

The FY2025-26 Local Government Solid Waste and Materials Management Report is due by September 1, 2026.

Once reports are completed and reviewed, they will be posted to the Laserfiche document management system (estimated Dec 2026).

What is the Local Government Annual Solid Waste and Materials Management Report (LGAR)?

The LGAR is an annual report from DEQ to capture each local government's solid waste activities from the past fiscal year. Each North Carolina county and municipality is required to complete an LGAR annually. Completion and submission of this online report fulfill the annual reporting mandate to the state as required by G.S. 130A-309.09A. The collection of these reports each fiscal year is used to develop the Consolidated Waste Management Report and the State of the State Waste Reduction Report.

Failure to complete and submit an LGAR could result in the local government being excluded from distributions of Solid Waste Disposal Tax Proceeds and other DEQ grants.
