Lithium-Ion Batteries
Lithium-ion batteries don't belong in the trash or recycling. Take them to a drop-off location.
On December 1, 2026, in accordance with G.S. 130A-309.10 lithium-ion batteries will be banned from landfill disposal.
Find a Battery Drop-Off
- There may be a Household Hazardous Waste Program near you that will accept lithium-ion batteries.
- Contact your local government recycling program for other options.
