Drug and Alcohol Testing
After any accident resulting in personal injury to the employee or the other party, a drug and alcohol test should be performed as soon as possible.
Controlled substance and alcohol tests are to be conducted following ANY INCIDENT/ACCIDENT an employee is involved in while on duty where:
- An injury requires overnight hospital stay, or a serious or severe injury (such as a compound fracture or 2nd or 3rd degree burn, loss of limb, an impaling injury), OR
- A life was lost OR
- If operating a motor vehicle in the course of employment, the driver was cited for a moving traffic violation AND any individual involved was transported for medical treatment OR
- If operating a motor vehicle in the course of employment, the driver was cited for a moving traffic violation AND a vehicle involved was disabled and removed from the scene by other than its own power.

- LabCorp for nearest location at 800-762-4344 or www.labcorp.com/psc/index.html. If employee is transported to hospital from the scene, then the hospital may perform the drug and alcohol test.
