Eligibility Guidelines

Families with incomes below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines or those receiving cash assistance payments under Work First or Supplemental Security Income are eligible for weatherization services. Approximately 1,600 North Carolina families benefit from the program annually. Priority is placed on providing assistance to the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and families with children.

*For families with more than eight persons, 100 percent of poverty level increases $5,380 for each additional person. Therefore, for weatherization at 200 percent of poverty level, add $10,760 for each additional person.
