Remanufactured Leak Detection Equipment Approvals

The UST Section has been made aware that there are companies remanufacturing leak detection equipment for use with UST systems. During the remanufacturing process it is possible that components are replaced that would make the original third party certification obtained by the original manufacturer invalid. Therefore, the equipment would no longer meet the requirements listed in federal regulation 40 CFR 280.45(a) (as incorporated by 15A NCAC 02N .0506) and as described in 40 CFR 280.40(a)(3) (as incorporated by 15A NCAC 02N .0501). The following table lists the companies that have remanufactured leak detection equipment approved for use in North Carolina. More information can be found in the Remanufactured Underground Storage Tank Leak Detection Equipment memo.
